About This Service

Autoimmune Skin Disease Care at a Tertiary Hospital

A dedicated autoimmune skin disease service within the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center of Chongqing West District Hospital.

Who We Are

Dermatology with a hospital behind it

Part of a Tertiary Hospital

Chongqing West District Hospital is a modern tertiary general hospital in Chongqing. Its Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center opened in April 2026 and operates six coordinated service lines, including reconstructive surgery, aesthetic surgery, and laser- and energy-based procedures.

Focused on Immune-Mediated Skin Disease

This service concentrates on the autoimmune diseases that attack the skin: pemphigus and other blistering diseases, cutaneous lupus erythematosus, scleroderma and morphea, dermatomyositis and lichen planus — their diagnosis by biopsy and immunofluorescence, their long-term medical treatment, and the monitoring that treatment requires.

Multidisciplinary Support

Because the service sits inside a tertiary hospital, patients draw on pathology, rheumatology, respiratory medicine, renal medicine, imaging and emergency response when the disease reaches beyond the skin. Biopsies go to the hospital’s own pathologists, and a person who needs a lung or kidney assessment is referred within the same institution rather than sent elsewhere.

Our Approach

Education before prescription

We believe the most important part of care happens before any prescription: getting the diagnosis right, explaining what long-term treatment can realistically achieve, and being clear about what it costs in monitoring, infection risk and follow-up. That is why this site leads with patient education rather than sales language.

✓

Evidence-Based

Our guidance reflects established dermatologic evidence about these conditions and their treatment classes, including honest discussion of risk, not marketing claims.

✓

Plain-Language

We explain what the immune system is doing, how each test contributes to a diagnosis, and how long treatment takes to work, in clear English, so you can take part in every decision.

✓

Honest About Limits

These conditions are managed rather than cured. Treatment is usually long term, flares are expected, relapse on stopping is common, and no outcome can be guaranteed. We say so before you commit.

The Hospital

Chongqing West District Hospital

Chongqing West District Hospital is a tertiary general hospital developed as a major healthcare project for Chongqing, with a planned capacity of up to 1,200 beds and more than 300 types of advanced medical equipment. More than 200 specialists with backgrounds at institutions affiliated with Army Medical University practice across more than 40 clinical departments, supported by nine major medical centres including the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center.

The hospital's culture, shaped by military medicine, emphasises discipline, rigour, and responsibility in clinical care. For patients with autoimmune skin disease, the defining advantage is that the full resources of a tertiary hospital — pathology, rheumatology, respiratory and renal medicine, imaging and emergency response — stand behind every diagnosis and every treatment plan.
